No one in the culture of MMA would dispute that Nate Marquardt is a rough customer; definitely not his opponent in the approaching UFC 122 prospects action, Yushin Okami.

But no one familiar with the sport would go to date as to name him a top contender in the sport, and although he’s usually skulking someplace on the list of top competitors, he’s not a guy that most supporters would imagine one day as the upcoming middleweight champion of the world.
But he won’t be.
But he may get a chance at the championship if all goes the way it should in the UFC 122 wagering action.
Marquardt will go across the ocean to continental Europe to battle against Japanese challenger Yushin Okami) in the headline fight of the evening. That is not a mistype: Nate Marquardt is the headline of a UFC Main Event. While that would never transpire on US soil, there are obviously different expectations when the UFC travels and in Germany, Marquardt will be the greatest celebrity in the UFC 122 prospects roster.
Originally, Marquardt was not in the designs as the UFC brain trust put the roster together for this Main Event. Brazilian Vitor Belfort was scheduled to compete with Okami in the UFC 122 wagering action but backed out at the last minute when he got a better offer to compete with the champion, Anderson Silva, in a championship game. He obviously agreed and Marquardt was pressed into action.
What makes this game intriguing is that the champion of this middleweight Main Event is expected to get the following chance at Silva and the middleweight championship.
It is tough to say whether that’s a punishment or a prize as Silva will clean the clock of either of these two fighters, but nevertheless this is most likely the last chance that Marquardt will receive to match for the belt.
Throughout his UFC career Marquardt has been a career challenger. His record of 30-9 is fairly deceiving and he’s now rated the number three middleweight challenger by Sherdog and Yahoo Sports. He’s a good striker and matches up well versus mat oriented competitors. Okami is just this kind of an challenger and should supply a good game. Okami is rated the #6 middleweight challenger by the same sites. Okami goes in this UFC 122 prospects game as the relative long shot, at least according to the rankings.
Marquardt earlier faced Anderson Silva in a challenge for the UFC middleweight championship back in July of 2007 at UFC 73. He lost the championship that evening by technical knockout due to strikes.
What makes this game so intriguing besides the talent of both fighters is their ability sets. These players have very different fighting styles and it should make for a very intriguing game.
Marquardt has a tad of a reach advantage and is most likely the more robust of the two. If he can keep the game on its feet and sustain his striking he should get the win in this UFC prospects game and earn a most likely rematch versus Silva for the middleweight championship.

The UFC 122 lines lineup might not be exactly what MMA fans were thinking of following the super matchup of heavyweights Brock Lesnar and new champ Cain Velasquez in the UFC 121 championship competition.

And even though the UFC 122 Main event featuring Nate Marquardt and Yushin Okami might not really have the same ring to it as the impending Rampage Jackson against Lyoto Machida, it’s maybe not rather the disappointment that everybody has been making it out to be.
And even if there’s no championship at stake it is possible to anticipate a excellent competition whenever Marquardt steps into the Octogan and his competition with Okami ought to be no different. It’s a bit anticlimactic as the victor is supposed to get a possibility vs the reigning middleweight champion, Anderson Silva, the best pound per pound competitor in MMA and maybe the history of the sport. And except the sun rises in the West and hell freezes over the victor of this UFC 122 betting Main Event is not going to beat Silva.
However as opposed to taking a ‘glass half empty’ approach to this competition, fans ought to see it as a good thing situation. The UFC 122 lines Main Event is in fact a de facto middleweight championship competition. No one has critically challenged Silva in the cage since George Bush was in office. In the last half decade that Silva has kept the middle weight championship he has won 14 straight fights. No matter who wins at the Marquardt against Okami competition in the UFC 122 betting competition, neither is able to defeating Silva.
Marquardt (30-9-2) is usually a challenging fight and nobody wants to match this man, but the truth of the matter is he is nowhere fast near Silva’s capability level. The most recent time these two met in 2007, with the championship at stake Silva made mincemeat of him, closing the competition with a TKO in the first round.
The same is true of Okami (20-5). He may be able to beat Marquardt in the UFC 122 lines event but he is not on the same level as Silva.
One fascinating note however, is that Okami is in fact the last man in the world to have defeated Silva, back in January 2006; even if it was due to the fact of an illegal kick DQ from Silva, it’s still one thing to give thought to.

MMA buffs hope that ‘UFC Europe’ is more productive than NFL Europe or every other failed American sporting endeavor hosted in Europe as the UFC 122 odds action returns to the old continent for the second time in less than a month.

After holding the UFC 120 Main Event in Jolly Olde England the UFC is heading back to Europe to hold the UFC 122 Main Event, this time around in Germany.
Closely following Oktoberfest the UFC 122 betting action should also be a big hit and a great chance to spread brand awareness in a non-traditional MMA market. The US has currently been won over by the MMA as has Japan and other parts of Asia, and Brazil is maybe the largest hotbed of MMA in the world.
But Europe hasn’t ever been a big marketplace for the MMA or the UFC and that’s why Dana White and his team are making such an effort to find ways in here and have selected to sponsor the UFC 122 odds competition at the Konig Pilsener Arena in Oberhausen Germany on November 13th, 2010.
But UFC buffs not going to the competition in Germany can be pardoned for being a bit troubled over the issue. You see, any time the UFC Main Events are hosted in a international place –with the exemption of Canada- the quality of the fight card nosedives.
Nothing vs any of the fighters on the UFC 122 betting card, yet when Nate Marquardt –who is a fantastic mma fighter- is the headliner for a UFC Main Event, certainly something is not pretty right.
In fact, there will be title fight at the UFC 122 odds competition and even the champ of the Main Event game up (Marquardt vs Yushin Okami) is not even guaranteed at a shot at the title. This is more like a Major League competition with a minor league roster.
Naturally, there should still be some great fighting action and we’ll probably be introduced to some up and arriving fighters but this roster is definitely lacking when it comes to name recognition and in total skill.
Not just that, however the fight is actually being prohibited from being broadcast in Germany. The German press has significantly criticized MMA as a sport, and the country has gone so far as to ban minors from going to the first German UFC competition, UFC 99. Earlier this year in March, Germany banned the sport from being broadcast whatsoever considering the “extent of violence shown [is] unacceptable.” The UFC appears to take this nearly as a challenge, declaring that they would keep going regardless and that not getting aired on TV is not going to stop them. The competition will still air via tape delay back in the US on Spike TV. Even the fact that it will be broadcast somewhere other than pay-per-view makes it sound like the UFC is acknowledging that this won’t be among the superior Main Cards they’ve come up with.
Thankfully, the UFC 123 competition will be back in the US and filled with big names and big skill.

Come hell or high water the UFC 122 betting action will take place on November 13th, 2010 at the Konig Pilsner Arena in Oberhausen Germany. Even with opposition to the sport from the German media and the government, the UFC is determined to go on to push their overseas presence in MMA fighting until they’re either approved or forbidden once and for all.

It’s a little of an unconventional site for a UFC Main Event and it might not be the wisest place to an event but but then, Dana White is a headstrong man and he is about to do what he says he is about to do; repercussions be damned.
The UFC 122 lines event will be just the 2nd time that the UFC has presented a Main Event on the European continent. There have of course been many successful Main Events presented in London, England through the years but so far as mainland continental Europe, this is just the 2nd time that it’s occurred.
And as White well knows, there’s a pretty excellent cause for that.
The Europeans, at any rate the Germans, don’t like MMA all that much. At least that’s the message that the govt of Germany and other authorities are delivering to the UFC. In fact, this body has been busy trying to make the UFC 122 betting Main Event as unsuccessful as possible.
For example, there will be no children allowed at the event itself and none that’ll be permitted to enter the Konig Pilsner Arena on the evening of the UFC 122 lines action. That’s just one issue. Yet another development that surely won’t support the UFC’s cause is the fact that that the telecast of the UFC 122 betting event has been forbidden by the German government.
Trendy German media has completely condemned not only this event however the whole sport in general. If the UFC is looking to gain a foothold in the European market or at a minimum the German market it’s destined to be an uphill battle.
Apart from the complications created by the government there does not seem to be all that much appeal in the sport itself from Germans. There are almost no German competitors at any level of global MMA tournament and certainly the media tends to reflect the preferences of the population generally speaking.
The match will still be broadcast by way of tape delay in the u.s., where the sport goes on to be hugely famous with its enthusiasts. Germany is taking a stance against mma, but it is hopeless to stop the propagation of the UFC across the globe.
The impending UFC event may well be a achievement but it’s off to a quite inauspicious start, to claim the least.

Attempting to follow the awesome UFC Main Event we just observed with the heavyweight championship changing hands in an amazing fight between celebrities Brock Lesnar and Cain Velasquez is basically out of the question but that’s exactly what the UFC 122 betting event will must do.

Almost no competition will be able to top what supporters were treated to when these 2 huge men beat each other’s brains in a round of competition last month.
However the UFC 122 probabilities roster has also some interesting fights and there’s no doubt that sports supporters will find something to their liking when the UFC 122 betting competition gets moving on November 13th at the Konig Pilsner Arena in Oberhausen Germany.
The headline competition in this affair is scarcely at the celeb level, but UFC Main Events in foreign nations rarely highlight the top names in the sport. In Germany Nate Marquardt will take on Yushin Okami in the UFC 122 probabilities Main Event competition.
Okami (25-5) was originally slated to match Brazilian Vitor Belfort in what would have been a very interesting match in fact. Nevertheless, Belfort smartly pulled from the event to encounter middle weight champ Anderson Silva. That opened the door for Marquardt in what should be an in interesting competition. The victor of this UFC 122 betting main event will purportedly obtain a championship shot vs Silva.
One more top competition on the Main Card features Jorge “el Conquistador” Rivera (18-7) vs a much younger Alessio Sakara. At 38 years old Rivera is scarcely in his combating prime and this match is scheduled up to grant utmost fame to Sakara the Italian to help make him a European celebrity. However the reality is Sakara isn’t that great. With a record of 15-7-1, Rivera doesn’t have much to fear. Rivera has been performing with the UFC since he made his debut at UFC 44. He won that bout with a unanimous decision win over David Loiseau. Sakara and Rivera were earlier slated to match each other at UFC 118 back in August, but he was pressured off the card with an arm injury and Gerald Harris was in his place instead. Sakara was then pressured off the card with an injury too and replaced by Joe Vedepo. Assuming nothing takes place between now and November 13, though, Sakara and Rivera are now well enough to go at it in UFC 122.
However the hometown crowd will all be attending to applaud for their native son, Dennis Siver, a Russian-German lightweight who will be trying to win on his native soil for the 1st time in his UFC career. Siver has fought in 9 UFC competitions and has a career record of 16-7. Yet he’s never fought in a UFC event in Germany and when he gets into the Octagon in Oberhausen to match Englishman Andre Winner he’ll finally get that possibility.
The other 2 bouts on the principal card will include the American Amir Sadollah against Germany’s Peter Sobotta in the welterweight fight, and Shine Krzysztof Soszynski against the Croatian Goran Reljic.

It is hard to play encore to classic heavyweight title matchup like Brock Lesnar and Cain Velasquez but that’s just what the competitors in the approaching UFC 122 betting action have to do. In what may have been the predicted match of the year Velasquez absolutely destroy the much bigger Lesnar, handing the victor first round TKO and getting the Velasquez the heavyweight title.

By comparison, the UFC 112 odd main event between middleweights Nate Marquardt and Yushin Okami is no place near that level of buzz. There will be no belts at stake and there will not be lots of major names in the UFC 122 betting action. But that does not mean that there will not be a lot of excellent MMA fighting action.
Marquardt is a incredible fighter and the sort of competitor that no one wants to face in the Octagon. He’s had his share of battles in the UFC (30-9-2) and the victor of this Main Event is most likely next in line to get a prospect at the middleweight title. Yushin Okami, maybe the top MMA fighter in Japan (25-5) and is going to be more than all set for his match with Marquardt and eager to a get shot at getting his brains beat in by Anderson Silva.
But there’s considerably more to this UFC 122 betting card than just the Main event. And although there might not be a signature superstar on the card there are many quite intriguing competitions and enthusiasts will most likely be treated to some fantastic action.
One match in the UFC 122 lines that you do not want to miss is the other middleweight matchup between American Jorge Rivera versus Italian Alessio Sakara. Sakara is the top Italian fighter in MMA and he should have a lot of backing from his homeland in Oberhausen, Germany.
This is just the 2nd time that a UFC Main Event has been in Germany and just the 2nd such event that will be presented on continental Europe. This event comes just a month following the UFC 120 Main Event hosted in London. Both competitions were heavy on global competitors and a fantastic way of promoting the sport in Europe.
It is furthermore fascinating to note just how global this particular event will be. There will 11 matches with 11 different nationalities represented. It is fairly surprising that more German competitors will not be represented than will be, but that’s almost certainly related to the fact that the sport has drawn lots of ire from authorities in the country. They have banned the UFC from airing in their country, although it will still be airing by means of tape delay in America on Spike TV. That isn’t halting UFC promoters, however, from promising to get a grip anywhere on earth that they potentially can. Probably that’s why they have elected to hold two UFC competitions consecutively in a foreign country. In the close to 20 years that the UFC has been in operation, and with a lot of distinct nations already represented in mixed martial arts, UFC 122 is likely to be really global.

Language, culture, oceans and many other obstructions act as road blocks in the competition to develop closure ties between many nations throughout the world however the UFC is assisting to bridge these obstacles and the UFC 122 Main Event in Oberhausen will be the most worldwide MMA competition ever.

MMA and fighting sports in general are globally comprehended and loved by sports supporters across the globe and people from dozens –if not hundreds- of nations will tune into the UFC 122 odds tournament. The sport already is comprised of fighting variations based on many different nations including the united states, Japan, Brazil, Thailand, and Russia. Now, after almost 2 decades of tournaments, the UFC is becoming ever more really global in nature.
On top of that, this is just the UFC’s 2nd competition in Germany and the 2nd in continental Europe. Germany has in fact prohibited the broadcasting of the sport as of March of this year, a determination that the UFC intends to fight. Even though it will not be shown on German television, it will still be shown by means of tape delay the same day on Spike TV. Nonetheless, hosting the sport in continental Europe just one month after it was hosted in the United Kingdom is a great way to boost the UFC’s worldwide position as a legitimate sport.
In the 11 games on slate for the UFC 122 gambling action there will be 11 various nationalities depicted. In any UFC Main Event there’s additionally a great deal of diversity with regards to the fighters’ nationalities however the UFC 122 odds competition will be taking it to yet another level. There will be 7 fighters from the US, the highest by a wide margin but after that it is really a mix bag of fighters. Yushin Okami will stand for Japan in the Main Event vs American middleweight Nate Marquardt with the champ earning a chance at the middleweight title vs the famous Anderson Silva.
There will additionally be an Italian contender (Alesssio Sakara) and a handful of German fighters. In fact, it’s a little surprising that that there are not more German fighters on this fight card as the competition is being held in Germany. Like we watched in the UFC 121 Main Event in London, the lineup was packed with English fighters whilst the UFC 122 gambling action contains just 3 German fighters. There will additionally be 3 English fighters in the UFC 122 Main Event representing Europe.
Brazil will needless to say be represented also as there will be two Brazilian fighters seeking to make a name for themselves on the MMA arena –just as there’s in almost every MMA competition. There is additionally a lone contender from Belarus. And just one contender from New Zealand, Poland, Croatia and the Czech Republic.
In fact, the UFC 122 Main Event will seem more like a UN meeting than an MMA competition but one time the action gets moving and the fighting begins it will not matter where anyone is from as the action in the Octagon will take center stage.

There are two competitors who have the home town edge with Bisping going versus Akiyama and Hardy in his fight versus Condit.

This competition is expected to smash the European records for gate receipts and attendance. The initial seating plan has now sold out.
Main Card – The main card is headlined by Bisping versus Akiyama. Bisping makes his way into the fight with a record of 20-3 and he will be the home town favorite. He won his previous bout versus Dan Miller in UFC 114. Akiyama is 13-2 and he is trying to bounce back from his last loss versus Chris Leben in UFC 116.
Additionally on the main card it’s Cheick Kongo versus Travis Browne, Mike Pyle versus John Hathaway, Dan Hardy versus Carlos Condit and James Wilks versus Claude Patrick. Hardy is struggling with the stress of delivering for the home buffs just like Bisping is. Neither of those two competitors wants to fail the buffs in England. Based on the probabilities at the sports book, Hardy has the more challenging bout. He is only a -150 favorite at the sports book versus Condit whilst Bisping is a 2-1 favorite versus Akiyama. The fight between Hardy and Condit has the potential to be the top one on the card and it may receiver Fight of the Night honors at UFC 120. Each contender is quite skilled and both really want a huge win. Hardy initially was intended to compete with Dustin Hazelett, but Hazelett withdre to get married back in September. Instead, he competed Rick Story in UFC 117, leaving Hardy to compete with Condit.
The biggest favorite on the main card at the sports book is Hathaway who’s more than a 4-1 choice versus Mike Pyle. Pyle most not too long ago lost to Jake Ellenberger at UFC 108, but then beat Jesse Lennox at UFC 115 only a couple of months ago. Pyle’s career MMA record stands at twenty wins, 7 losses, and 1 draw. Hathaway made his UFC debut at UFC 93 when he beat Tom Egan. England is known for lots of things, but it is not a lot of an exporter of anything noteworthy apart from the Beatles and Harry Potter. However they might just be able to add MMA fighters to that list and throughout the UFC 120 odds Main Event, there will be a lot of English fighting talent on display.

All right, so maybe England does not actually stack up to other countries like Brazil or the US in terms of producing MMA champions, but there are actually quite numerous English fighters in MMA and the number grows each year. And when the UFC 120 gambling action gets underway at the O2 Arena in London next month, fanatics will get a possibility to see a full list of 9 English fighters compete in the UFC 120 odds action. There’s even one uncommon fight that will be an all-English affair with James McSweeney seeking to demolish countryman Tom Blackledge in their UFC 120 odds Preliminary Card bout.
However the highlight of the schedule, and the primary reason why the fanatics will be packing the seats for the UFC 120 odds action, is Michael Gavin Joseph Bisbing. Identified as a good but not excellent competitor in the UFC, this person is among the most famous individuals in the UK.
And he’s a fairly excellent, if underappreciated, competitor too. At 31 years old, nevertheless, it appears as though his fighting prowess might have reached an apex. He has got a career record of 19-3 but has hit a rough patch recently, losing 2 of his past 4 matches against excellent, but not excellent, competition (Wanderlei Silva and San Henderson).
Bisping is a former Cage Warriors Fighting Championship light heavyweight champ, and a former Cage Rage light heavyweight champ. His professional career got its start in April 2004, when he fought to win against Steve Mathews at Pride & Glory 2: Battle of the Ages. His subsequent bout a month later resulted in a knockout win over John Weir. His 3rd competition concluded in a technical knockout against Mark Epstein. After he efficiently defended his light heavyweight champ championship in a rematch with Epstein, he garnered the nickname “The Great British Hope” from UFC.com.
He changed to middleweight in 2008, about halfway through his career so far at the UFC and right after he recorded his 1st loss. That loss was to Rashad Evans by way of split decision. Following that, he determined to lower down a weight division after being instructed that he was somewhat small to be a light heavyweight.
And now against UFC 120 odds beginner Yoshihiro Akiyama, he is just about certain to win his fight in London.
Akiyama is a veteran MMA competitor and martial artist, but he’s got just two UFC fights under his belt and at 1-1 he hasn’t impressed. He’s a world-class Judo master but that hasn’t translated into UFC success. And after climbing into the Octagon with Bisbing, in front of a rabid English crowd, he’ll exit the UFC 120 odds action with a 1-2 record.

MMA fans have been spoiled by the unbelievable bouts that they have watched in recent months and they’ve got the tendency to grumble if they don’t get the major names they want in the UFC Main Events. So the impending UFC 120 gambling bouts have not been well received by much of the gambling public. Following starting off the 2010 calendar year with dream matchup after dream matchup in the UFC Main Events – or at the very least a star studded roster even if there have been no fantastic bouts – MMA fans are now quick to write the competition off or steer clear of it completely if there is not a world champ or a legend of the sport.

The UFC 120 lines action doesn’t have any champ or huge name in the roster but it might just be a number of the best fighting that UFC fans are going to see all year. Too often these days, the UFC has been all style and little substance. Of course there have been some amazing bouts, with huge names in recent UFC Main Events. But when was the last time that you saw a fight in one of these matches that blew your mind?
Generally when the victors come out they make quick work of their competitors and take care of business. Or when a icon of the sport steps into the Octagon, they’re fantastic at selling tickets, but they’re generally about five years and 20 pounds past their fighting prime and embarrass themselves.
In the impending UFC 120 gambling action there aren’t plenty of identifiable names to the average UFC lover. And the names that are known aren’t precisely legends of the sport. As opposed to the UFC 119 action, there are no victors or former victors in the UFC 120 gambling action either.
And whereas that could turn some people off, the truth of the matter is that the UFC 120 just might be some of the best fighting that we have watched at a UFC Main Event in a little while.
On October 16th when the action at last gets moving in London, England, you might not recognize many of the competitors but you will certainly recognize the high level of contest and fighting talent once the bell rings.
The Main Card is going to incorporate Dan Hardy, who’s not a legend but is undoubtedly a well-known MMA contender. He has competed in the sport since 2004, and has fought in numerous promotions including Cage Force and Cage Warriors. He signed with the UFC in 2008. His handle, the Outlaw, comes from a screen name he used in the Cage Warrior forums when he was shopping for training partners. It stuck because he and another outlaw, Robin Hood, each come from Nottingham, England. He is currently rated the #4 welterweight in the world by Sherdog.com.
John Hathaway was expected to match Dong Hyun Kim, but Kim was compelled to withdraw from the Main Card after he sustained an injury. He has been substituted by Mike Pyle.
The headline fight is going to be Michael Bisping versus Yoshihiro Akiyama.
